The story behind the words

A writer shaped by every chapter.

Nai The Writer is the author name of Naisha Nickerson—an author, storyteller, journal creator, podcaster, and entrepreneur whose work explores lived experience, relationships, identity, creativity, community, and the many ways we continue becoming.

Before becoming a full-time writer, Naisha built a career in leadership and technical operations. That experience continues to shape her work through careful observation, thoughtful structure, and an instinct for turning complex ideas into something meaningful.

Her creative journey began with personal writing about healing and grew through Road To Recovery, self-care workbooks and journals, blogging, podcasting, and entrepreneurship. As she grew, so did the work. Her writing now moves beyond any single subject or genre—making room for healing and grief alongside imagination, reinvention, relationships, childhood, belonging, and the unexpected directions life can take.

Word To Nai is home to that evolution. It brings together books, reflections, guided writing, conversation, and stories for readers of different ages. The work remains honest about where we have been without limiting who we are allowed to become.

Today, Nai is developing new projects across adult and children’s literature while continuing to write about the experiences that connect us, challenge us, and invite us to see ourselves differently.

The promise behind the name

Why Word To Nai

The name Word To Nai comes from a phrase I grew up hearing: “word is bond.” It meant that your word carried weight—if people could not trust what you said, they could not take you seriously. Your word was a promise, and keeping it mattered.

That belief became the foundation of Word To Nai. The name is my promise that I am not here simply to talk or put words on a page without purpose. I write from lived experience to offer honesty, encouragement, and whatever help my story can give.

The linked pinkies in the logo make that promise visible. They represent trust, commitment, and the bond between the words I share and the people who receive them. Every book, reflection, and project is created with the hope of encouraging someone to keep growing and become a better version of themselves—regardless of where their own story began.
